The History Collections contains numerous topic folders, both physical and digital. For the moment these files are not searchable online, however the lists below will at least form a basis for further research in the archives. (The links below are to Word documents which can be downloaded and searched in Microsoft Word using the ctrl+f command).
We are open Tuesday-Thursday 9 -1 or by appointment. Contact the Archivist at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-435-5490.

Hilarita Dairy Calf Barn and Residence H.R.E.
The Hilarita Dairy is well known as the property that Reed School now occupies, however the rear of the property for many years has housed the Tiburon Public Works yard and office. One of the two remaining structures from the Dairy, the calf barn, had to be removed because it was no longer a useful structure. For several years the Town consulted with Landmarks to find a good home for the barn. That process included producing a Historic Resource Evaluation to determine if there was any historic significance to be considered. The result is a very well researched and written history of the property and the buildings which includes photos and information from the Landmarks History Collections.
In May 2017, with the help of Patrick Kerslake and others at the TDPW, the calf barn was disassembled and moved to the Ocean Riders’ facility at the historic Golden Gate Dairy at Muir Beach, where the materials will be preserved, and will hopefully be re-purposed as part of the future Interpretive Center for the history of the Portuguese dairies of southern Marin.
